Check out my hat #fail! This weekend, I cast on a hat. It called for worsted weight yarn, US7 needles, and a 96-stitch cast on. I’m over halfway done with it, and I started getting a nagging feeling that it just didn’t feel as substantial as I expected. I ask myself “is this really worsted weight yarn?” I pull out the label and my fear is confirmed: I’ve been knitting with fingering weight. It could maybe still work as an adult hat, but…. no, it’s just not right. I talked with @fibercrafty Pam about it and she suggested that I could rip it out, and reknit it with the yarn held double. I’m pretty sure that’s what I’ll do. But it will probably sit in time-out for a day or two while I make my final decision. The fact that I didn’t notice it was fingering instead of worsted is a testament to how tired I am. #knitting #knittersofinstagram #unravelingpodcast #whenknittingattacks
